Enoshima

The day after our visit to Kamakura we decided to take Hanna out to Enoshima Island (it's actually not too far from the Great Buddha). At the base of the hillsides just in front of a small neighborhood are a bunch of food shops .... and this is what they were selling. Anyone hungry for a little octopus?

Or if octopus isn't your thing they also have whole squid!

We toured the new and improved
light house and the flower gardens
at the top of the hill and had a great
view of all the cities on the coast.

More tori! Shrines are everywhere in Japan - almost as easy to find as 7 elevens!

Down by the water...don't worry they have signs that tell you what to do in case there is an earthquake - it goes something like this
Earthquake = Tsunami = Get to higher ground!

Here we are on top of the light house!

After enjoying the breeze (on top of the light house is the only place you could feel it) we headed back down to the gardens and decided to look for somewhere to eat.

This pagoda was so ornate - even the ceiling was painted and carved and laquered.

Um...Hanna's new Japanese boyfriend...

"Did I mention I am the Great Stone Dragon?"
Mushu??!?!?
